KARL PILKINGTON FANS > News & thoughts
A small prize draw is taking place in the fan community..
I hope it doesn't dissappoint. Wrote my thoughts about it on the facebook page.
Hope you had a nice Christmas. Karl hates it so thinking what he might have done and said on Christmas day made me laugh.
I now have my Idiot Abroad DVD which I got from Play.com... going to wait a bit before I watch it though... :)
On the subject of eccentric famous, people, Boris Johnson has always been a bit of a hero of mine. He never fails to entertain on Newsnight, Question Time etc, and I often look forward to his encounters with Paxman. Here's a cool playlist I threw together. The Best of Boris...
So An Idiot Abroad has been a huge success, most recently pulling in figures in excess of 1 million. I'm still not sure if Sky 1 was the right choice for this and Channel 4 seemed the natural candidate after the Ricky Gervais Show. But still, it's been really good, and lots of people are discovering the beauty that is Karl's round head.
In case you missed it earlier this month, here it is
Gervais and Merchant are working with Warwick Davis as most of you probably already know. When I first discovered the format of the show would resemble Curb Your Enthusiasm, I wondered if they would put Karl in one or two scenes. Think about it - Karl playing himself opposite Warwick Davis!
Excerpt from an interview with Warwick on Tonight with Jonathan Ross
This is the Sky 1 yet to air series previously known as "Karl Pilkington's Seven Wonders". Here's a taster of what to expect:
It looks as though Karl has actually set up his own Myspace page full of rambling blog entries. Karl Pilkington's MySpace profile (fan creation)
Here's a free recording released in anticipation of the big tournament of our national sport The Ricky Gervais Guide to... The World Cup
I created this audio file for my own amusement. Just imagine if Karl performed his poetry and ramblings live on stage... (BTW - do you think I could do Karl's old XFM job?)
ShortList.com published this interview with Karl last week...
Thanks for visiting the site. Having been listening to Ricky, Smerch and Karl for a few years on the XFM archives and on going podcasts, I decided to make this site to promote Karl in addition to other Gervais and Merchant projects. If you didn't already know, they're working with one Warwick Davies on a sitcom called "Life's Too Short." I hope Karl gets a part in it. Read about it here or check Ricky's Blog for updates. On the subject of Warwick Davies, witness this funny Pilkington-esque lead balloon of a comment from the mouth of a titilated Ian Wright. |
